Apr 08,  · I had heard of the Flamin Groovies for years, but had only heard some of their later music. I saw Amazon had their CD "Teenage Head" up for $, so I went and checked out some tracks and picked it up. It's definitely a cool early 70s rock and roll record I had missed. It's alot more dark and menancing than the later 70s version of the band.

One of the more obscure songs on the Rolling Stones' Between the Buttons, "Miss Amanda Jones" is also one of the less memorable tunes on the record, though by this time Mick Jagger and Keith Richards' songwriting ability had grown to the point where even the filler had some worthwhile qualities. Though there's a little blues-rock in "Miss Amanda Jones" -- particularly in the bleating opening.

Flamin' Groovies also appears in this compilation Dirty Linen: "[T]his is a wonderful tutorial for those who missed the golden age of Bay Area rock, and a memory-filled souvenir for folks who were there.".
